The Experience

A trip planned with me runs in layers, from the first conversation to your flight home.

Good Travel Starts With a Conversation

Planning a trip should be something you look forward to, not another thing on your to-do list.

I like to get to know my clients before we start making plans. Where you want to go, how you like to travel, what matters to you, and even the things you’d rather avoid. Those conversations help me make recommendations that actually fit.

From there, we build your trip in layers. I’ll guide you through the decisions, take care of the research and details, and make sure everything comes together in a way that makes sense.

  1. Let’s Talk

We’ll start with a conversation about what you have in mind. You might know exactly where you want to go, or you might need help narrowing it down.

Either way, I’ll ask questions, listen, and get a feel for what would make this trip right for you.

  2. I’ll Do the Homework

I’ll research the options and bring you a few that I think are a good fit. I’ll explain the differences, share my recommendations, and help you decide what makes the most sense.

You can count on me to tell you what I think, not just what you want to hear.

  3. Getting the Big Picture Right

For more detailed trips, we’ll work out the overall flow first. Where you’ll go, how long you’ll stay, and where you’ll stay.

I pay attention to how a trip feels, not just how it looks on paper. There’s no point in fitting everything in if you don’t have time to enjoy it.

  4. Adding the Details

Once the foundation is in place, I’ll add the experiences, excursions, and restaurant recommendations that make the trip feel personal.

Some things are worth planning ahead. Others are better left open. I’ll help you find the right balance.

  5. Everything in One Place

Before you leave, I’ll organize your travel details and documents into one easy-to-use digital itinerary.

You’ll have what you need at your fingertips, and I’m happy to walk through everything with you before departure.

  6. I’m Still Here

My involvement doesn’t stop when you leave home. I’ll monitor your flights, check in during your trip, and be available if something comes up.

You can enjoy your travels knowing there’s someone looking out for you.

Common questions

What happens after I send the planning form?

I read your answers and reply within one business day with next steps. Most clients come by referral, and the form simply gives me what I need to start well.

Is the first conversation really complimentary?

Yes. A custom planning fee may apply to complex, multi-destination or highly customized itineraries, and I always discuss it before planning begins.

What kinds of trips do you plan?

River cruises, small-ship and luxury cruises, private yacht and catamaran charters, expedition cruises, safaris, wellness-focused trips, cultural immersion, and private or small-group touring. Complex custom itineraries are welcome.

Do I have to know where I want to go?

No. Many travelers come with a feeling and not a destination. The planning form has a place for that, and our first conversation will help narrow it down.

What if something goes wrong while I’m traveling?

I stay reachable while you travel, check in during your trip and monitor your flights, often catching a change before you do. Every trip is also backed by the supplier’s 24-hour support line and, if you have it, your travel protection provider’s emergency assistance line.

Can you help with travel protection?

I offer Allianz travel protection plans available through Cruise Planners, and supplier protection options when they fit better, and I help you compare them.

Do you book flights?

Air is included as part of complete itineraries and supplier packages, and premium-cabin fares are booked through a consolidator. I don’t book air-only trips. If you prefer to use points or miles, I’m glad to advise you on that.

Do you handle passports and visas?

No. I’ll point you to the official resources for both.

Do you plan honeymoons or destination weddings?

Those are planned through my other brand, We HRTS Travel.

Do you plan solo trips and group trips?

Yes. I plan for couples, groups of friends, families across generations and solo travelers. Live Luxe hosted journeys are in development; tick the box on the planning form to hear about them first.

Who will I work with?

Sarah Franks plans every trip personally. I am the only advisor.
